Natya Mela For Chennai – Funds Update

Bharati Tamil Sangam is very glad to let you know that it had raised net funds of $24,334 for Chennai Flood Relief through Natya Mela for Chennai event held on Sunday, Jan 24, 2016. These funds are donated to the following non-profit organizations in India to help Chennai people who are affected by the recent Chennai Floods.
  • Arogya Seva – $ 2,000 (These funds are used for conducting Post Flood Medical Camps for Chennai people who are living in very low income areas and need medical attention)
  • ILP School Project – $ 8,000 (These funds are being used to support many schools in and around Chennai to get supplies and study materials that got washed away by floods )
  • Samarpana – $ 8,000 (These funds are being used to help to rebuild the main facility of Samarpana, an organization supporting special need (mentally challenged) kids/adults. This main facility got fully damaged by the recent Chennai floods leaving all the kids/adults without a good place. This place is now getting reconstructed using funds raised from Natya Mela for Chennai.
  • Seva Bharathi – $ 6,334 (Helped to distribute Wheelchairs, Tricycles, Crutches, Aluminium Walkers, Hearing Aids etc for physically challenged people who lost their accessories during the floods. Note: Bharati Tamil Sangam donated Seva Bharathi a total of $12K of which $6334 were given from Natya Mela for Chennai event funds and the remaining $5666 were funds generated from previous fund generating events/effort by Bharati Tamil Sangam.
